While paying tributes to respected Mataji, on May 29, 2011, he announced:
“Today on Mataji’s 90th. Birthday, I am happy to announce, on behalf of Mohinder Singh Syngle Education & Research Society, institution of a coveted award: ‘MALTI GYAN PEETH PURASKAR. This would be felicitation to those who have dedicated their lives to the field of education. In this form among the teachers teaching in girl’s schools in the entire State of Punjab. A teacher, each from the field of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English & Social Studies, will be selected on the basis of their performance and would be honoured every year on Mataji’s birthday, with Rupees One Lakh, Robe of Honour & Certificate of Excellence. This would be done in close coordination with the Govt. of Punjab.”
